hunting season

Today's Dose of Sarcasm

People, apologies once again for the delayed update since the last post. Busy BUSY schedule this time of the year - uni semester 2 commencing along with house hunting season. If there's one thing we students hate despise LOATHE about house hunting here in Australia, it's those homosapien species we'd like to call... the "agents".

Before we cause any more confusion out there, please note that the house hunt is not meant for US, but for the two boys currently squatting comfortably in our place. Lucky bastards. Haha.

Joke joke, sepet!

Moving along! House hunting is a sore, uglay, painful blister in the arse for anyone wanting to rent a decent house in Brisbane. With the bloody Aussie economy going strong (bad for us international students getting pocket $ka-ching$ from parents back home) and the high interest rates (bad for locals here), it's actually cheaper to RENT a house than to actually BUY one. It doesn't get any uglier than that, folks. Hence, we're having abit of trouble pouncing and catching the perfect kill of a house.

$%@#!! Dangnamit.

So far, we've managed to sneak up and stalk on some of these houses, "ambushing" them at every chance we get to inspect them. These are only SOME of the many houses we've tried hunting down, but to no avail. Waiting on replies from these "agents" within the week.

Fingers crossed.

Toowong - small, dark, cramped and funky smelling.
Yes, funky smelling.

Bardon - nice. Correction. VERY nice. But, very doubtful.
Too many applicants.

Paddington - ANOTHER funky smelling hole. I mean house. Blergh.
NEXT!

Annerley - decent, brightly lit. Competing against big group of Indians. Hoping on Suren to "influence" their consideration on taking them in since he's a hybrid of a Chinese + Indian himself.
"Best of both worlds." HAH!

Indooroopilly - pretty isolated, but damn spacious for a 3 bedder at $350pw.

House hunting season is still open.

Till then, our little Bardon castle will continue to harbour and provide shelter to the two noobs of Brissie, Sherman and Suren.

Joke again, sepet! =P

shoe-bee-do-bah!

Today's Dose of Sarcasm

Week One of uni has started and guess who's still not back home in Bardon?
(hint : a certain 1/3 of the equation of the 3 monkeys running this show)

AHEM.
Lyn, cepat gik balit oi! In case you're wondering, your "NEW" friend here is anxious to meet you, mmmkay. Dah lah sik malu LT** puas-puas lam rumah tok!!! TEY! Hmph. (**Translation "LT" = "lawan taukeh")

Anyhoos...
Brought the boys out for their first taste of a typical "Friday nite" in Brissie - clubbing. Hehe. Well, at least the chinese and the indian got to breathe and roam free outside after being cooped up in the house for the past few days.
It's been weeks since the last time we girls had a Friday nite out, so Munks decided to "spice" things up abit with a whole new 'do.

The "Korean Kim Chi" Look.
ekeke XP
Reiji at Cesars was packed. Bumped into familiar regular faces. Then, we encountered a lil awkward moment and decided to snap a shot of it.

...The meeting of two 'Jay Chou's...
(-_+)
For those of you who may have concerns about the wellbeing and survival of these two boys, don't fret. We can ASSURE you that they are well fed and properly taken care of.
Definitely alive and eating.
While the 1/3 of us is still "stranded" back home in Kuching, the other 1/3 has already started grumbling about uni workload.
As for the other 1/3 of us, well that 1/3 is still grinning about her early graduation gift to complete her graduation outfit thanks to a certain sepet monkey...
NYEE!

"Hello, Mr Steve Madden. So nice to finally meet you."

P/S - It's official, folks.
zeL's Graduation Ceremony
(FINALLY!)

Date : 14th August, 2008
Time : 2.00-3.30pm
Venue : Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC), South Bank

bubye ronnie how =(

Latest update for our darling
Miss Sherlyn Elsie Miren
(who doesn't seem so keen on coming back to Brissie, hmmmm?)
Sad news Lyn! Ronnie dah ciao gi Singapore for good! The idiot told us last minute and pretty much shocked ALL of us with his sudden decision. Sigh. Boys. Pfft. And they said girls were hard to understand.

Missing Mr Ronnie How, the noisy fella who drags us clubbing and laughs at us when we dress funny =(
Spent a night at his apartment deck for a farewell BBQ before sending him off to the airport early the next day.
Final season appearance of Ronnie How in "The Ronnie and Vicki Show"
BOOOOOO =(
Oh, yea! AHEM. Before we forget.. with the exit of our beloved Mr Ronnie How, comes two new extras into our daily show; Mr Sherman and his sidekick Mr Suren.Till we meet again~

girls of bardon sakai in melbourne (part III)

The rest of these shots, are pretty much random in order. Just shots of other sights in Melb.
Saw horse carriages in the City. Felt really cold from the winter wind. Thought "horse ride in winter = New York"! Haha. Close enough!
Cost us $60 for a 15min ride. Worth the ride for a group of 4.
As if a real horse carriage ride wasn't cool enough, we went on to ride the carousels at night, too!
Final shot of Munks in Melb. Sad face. Goodbye Melbourne.

girls of bardon sakai in melbourne (part II)

Thanks to spoilt China kids holidaying in Melb, we got to tag along for a free ride to one of Melb's must-see tourist spots, the Great Ocean Road. Yay us! A bloody 4hour drive from the CBD. Left the City at 4am, drove non-stop till the sun came up. A sight of a lifetime. At the end of the 'Road', lies one of Australia's famous and familiar "brochure shots", the 12 Apostles. You may remember these shots from various random pictures you might've found scrolling thru Facebook photo albums of people you know who're in Australia, posing and striking the favourite asian "peace signs". You always hear how people say that driving down this road is an amazing experience, but nobody ever says how BAD the actual drive is! Early warning to those of you who might consider driving down this "great road".

Great Ocean Road = winding, snakey, twisting bends and turns ahead!

Picture this, steady speeding at 60km/h then a sudden slowdown to 20km/h around a U bend. Now imagine doing that consecutively for the whole 4hour drive... we got car-sick and nearly threw up in our throats. Blergh.

But at the end of that drive, the view was worth every bit of barf you nearly threw up on.
(Apologies about the shaky hand-cam shot. Winter in Melb = C-C-COL-LD-D!!)

girls of bardon sakai in melbourne (part I)

First things first. Apologies for the late update since we got back from Melbourne. Alot as in ALOT ALOT ALOT has happened in the last 7 days. Lyn, if you're reading this, we forgot to tell you something! Err errr... Ronnie left for Singapore for good last Friday 11th =( but we'll get back to that story a lil later...

Anyhoos...

Melbourne was fun!
(LYN, WE MUST GO MELB AGAIN! AND THIS TIME I MEAN WITH YOU! HARUS!!!)

Won't be saying much, will let the pictures do all the work.
First day out in Melb? Bumped into a former coursemate FangFang (nama manja, bukan nama sebenar) who happened to have flown in from Brissie the same day we did. Yum cha-ed in Chinatown wearing a "koni-chiwa" top.
WRONG PLACE, WRONG TIME!
Haha.

We've been told that Melb's famous for food and the arts.
No objections, Your Honour. We rest our case.

For anyone who's been down to Melb, any Melbournian will INSIST on taking you to Max Brenner for their extreme chocolate overdose of anything and everything. We opted for the chocolate fondue, where we got to play around with our food. Slices of banana and strawberries plus marshmallows poked and dipped in warm dark and milk chocolate.
NYUMM!!
Then, there was the ultimate nasi lemak at "Nasi Lemak House" on Grattan Road in Carlton.
(Thanx Mr Fazuzu for the recommendation!)

And then,
we found out about the OTHER extreme chocolate hotspot, Koko Black on Lygon Street.
Bellisimo!

Pictured above : the Belgian Spoil and the Wild Strawberry Ice Cream Mousse Martini

We also have people to thank for for taking us around. Extra info, our initial Melb trip plan actually included SEVEN (that's right. SEVEN!) other people who hadta bail out last minute due to many unforeseen "excuses".
AHEM.
Had lotsa help finding good food thanks to Kim and Tansil, Julie and Linda, and Karen and Jenny.

Oh, Munks is now also known as AUNTY Munks. Meet 1yo Felicia Wong, her lil niece she just met for the first time.

Since we've already got 'food' covered, we also had all the spare time hunting down 'art' in the City. Graffiti hunting was fun! Found most of them in hidden alleys and narrow streets...
to be continued...

talk about talent!

QUICK PITSTOP!

While randomly YouTubing early this morning, we stumbled upon a video of a home-made clip by a girl named Mia Rose. Now this is ONE discovery we won't let go unknown. When you've got talent, you've GOT TALENT!

Check out her other video clips. Whether or not she's been signed up for a record deal, this is one girl to look out for. (But we reckon she's already been signed up with some independent label)

Did we mention she's HAWT (yes, not 'hot' but 'HAWT'!).
Some people have it all ay.

Apologies for the last video's audio quality.

If we said that we fell in love with her, does that make us gay?

Disclaimer: We are NOT homo-phobics of any kind. The videos posted above were taken from YouTube and is not in breach of any copyright laws at the time of publication.

be back in 7 (days)

Adios, fellow readers~

We're off to Melbourne early Wednesday morning and won't be back till next Tuesday. Expect alotta pictures on our next update!

On the sidelines,
latest goss for you Teresians out there:

Now, we here on girls of bardon don't normally endorse or support bitching of any kind. But THIS one wasn't written by any one of us, so I guess that doesn't count ay?

For all you Teresians out there, we're sure you know who this is. Man, somebody/people must really REALLY hate her to actually go thru all this trouble. What dedication and devotion.

Why all the hate? Where did all the love go?

We're not sure whether to agree with it, or pity the damn girl.
