FINALLY!! The movie we've all been waiting for since the last episode of the series aired on TV 4 years ago! Since the series ended, it's pretty obvious how the American cable networks tried to win over the same effect from the audience by coming up with 'similar' shows. By 'similar' shows, we meant shows with similar concepts - four strong sexy women, the tragic comedy of the men they loved and left in their lives and the strong friendship bond they survive on after uglay breakups and messy dramas. (i.e: Desperate Housewives, Lipstick Jungle, Cashmere Mafia, etc etc.) You get the picture... but still, nothing beats the original Carrie Bradshaw and the girls in comparison!
So, as a little reward for our good behavior lately (not that we've been misbehaving or anything...) we spent the night off to catch the movie premiere show down in Southbank =D YAY US!
What's NOT to love about the girls of SATC?? If anything, they've taught us girls what love is really about - that euphoric feeling of falling in love, the ugly fallouts, the messy breakups and the friends who help cheer you up by bitching about the girl your boyfriend left you for. Hurray for girlfriends!
Some of the things we've learned from the girls of SATC...
"Later that day I got to thinking about relationships. There are those that open you up to something new and exotic, those that are old and familiar, those that bring up lots of questions, those that bring you somewhere unexpected, those that bring you far from where you started, and those that bring you back. But the most exciting, challenging and significant relationship of all is the one you have with yourself. And if you find someone to love the you you love, well, that's just fabulous" -- Carrie
“Maybe all men are a drug. Sometimes they bring you down and sometimes, like now, they get you so high." -- Carrie
Charlotte: Miranda has a son!
Samantha: Just what the world needs-another man.
"The country runs better with a good looking man in the White House. I mean, look what happened with Nixon; no one wanted to fuck him, so he fucked everyone." -- Samantha
"I'm telling you: the fat ass, the farting - it's ridiculous. I am un-fuckable. And I have never been so horny in my entire life. ... That's why you're supposed to be married when you're pregnant, as somebody is obligated to have sex with you." -- Miranda
"I like my money right where I can see it: hanging in my closet."
-- Carrie
Adam: Come on, give me a little BJ, up and down a couple times, you're done, it's easy!
Samantha: Easy? You men have no idea what we're dealing with down there. Teeth placement, and jaw stress, and suction, and gag reflex, and all the while bobbing up and down, moaning and trying to breathe through our noses. Easy? Honey, they don't call it a job for nothin'!
"I don't believe in political parties, I just believe in parties."
-- Samantha
"I'm looking for love. Real love. Ridiculous, inconvenient, consuming, can't-live-without-each-other love. And I don't think that love is here in this expensive suite in this lovely hotel in Paris." -- Carrie"After awhile, you just want to be with the one who makes you laugh." -- Carrie
"No matter who broke your heart or how long it takes to heal, you'll never get through it without your friends." -- Carrie
